Final round of the 2023/24 Sportscar Championship

The 5th and Final Round of the NZ Sportscar Open Class Championship at Taupo Motorsport Park, April 27th/28th is shaping up to be a close finish between two Radical SR10 drivers Tim Edgell & Steve Sharpe.

Winner of both the 2022 and 2023 Championship with an incredible win streak of 13 races, Tim Edgell was forced to miss Round 4 at Taupo in March due to a clash with The NZ V8 Championship meeting at Hampton Downs where he also was defending his NZ Championship title. Missing a full round sees him drop to 2nd in the championship. Even though Sharpe has only won one race this season, his consistent finishes in the top 3 see him leading the championship with 1035 points to Edgell’s 900 points from his 9 wins from 9 starts this season.

Of course, anything can happen in the final round with 300 points up for grabs. One thing for sure is a Radical SR10 will again take out another NZ Championship title.
